PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor light source drive device capable of increasing a switching frequency of a semiconductor light source without generating an excessive overshoot current.SOLUTION: A semiconductor light source drive device comprises a control circuit 410 controlling a voltage conversion circuit 400 on the basis of current information from a current detection circuit 420. In the control circuit 410, the current detection circuit 420 detects a state that current starts to flow in a semiconductor light source, and voltage applied to the semiconductor light source by the voltage conversion circuit 400 at that time is set as a supply voltage in a state that the semiconductor light source is in a non-lighting state by pulse drive. |
