PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily direct the radiation directivity of an antenna of a radio device in a direction which is vertical to or in parallel with a package surface.SOLUTION: A radio device includes a semiconductor chip, a substrate, an antenna, and sealing materials. The semiconductor chip includes a radio circuit. A plurality of terminals are disposed on the first surface of the substrate, and the semiconductor chip is disposed on the second surface of the substrate. The antenna including a radiation element is electrically connected to the semiconductor chip. The sealing materials seal the semiconductor chip and the antenna. Furthermore, a distance between the first wall of the sealing materials which is almost in parallel with the second surface of the substrate and the radiation element is set so as to be equal to or more than a distance between the second wall of the sealing materials which is almost vertical to the second surface of the substrate and the radiation element. Alternately, a distance between the second wall of the sealing materials and the radiation element is set so as to be more than a distance between the first wall of the sealing materials and the radiation element, and a distance between the second wall of the sealing materials and the radiation element is set so as to be equal to or more than almost the half of the wavelength of an operating frequency. |
