PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control channel allocation for an access point to suppress radio wave interference.SOLUTION: An AP includes: a channel scan unit for periodically detecting whether another AP is communicating on a channel-by-channel basis; a master-AP slave-AP control unit for setting the self-AP as a mater AP when a master AP is not detected by the channel scan, and for setting the self-AP as a slave AP when a master AP is detected by the channel scan; a channel interference degree determination unit for determining the degree of radio wave interference in a frequency channel on the basis of the result of the channel scan; and a channel control unit for allowing the slave AP to request the master AP to change a channel if a radio wave interference degree in the channel used by the slave AP is larger than a radio wave interference degree in another channel, and for allowing the master AP to allocate a frequency channel to the slave AP on the basis of a channel changeover threshold in the channel in use and a channel change request from the slave AP.
