An image processing device according to the present disclosure comprises: an image state detection unit which detects a state of a captured image after a process which establishes the captured image is carried out; and a trimming determination processing unit which carries out a trimming determination of the captured image on the basis of the state of the captured image. With this configuration, it is possible to determine not to carry out the trimming in circumstances such as a change in the state of the captured image after the process which establishes the captured image is carried out, or when the captured image is a homogeneous image, and thus, it is possible to reliably suppress trimming being carried out against a user's intent.
