For disposable absorbent articles having an attachment for disposal, to prevent leakage of feces or residues thereof from the disposable absorbent article in the disposal state. The disposable absorbent article (10) includes: a first layer (14) having a liquid absorbent core (12); a liquid impermeable second layer (16) that covers the first layer (14); an attachment (34) provided in a first area (30) of the second layer (16); and a separation mechanism (48) that enables the first area (30) of the second layer 16 to partially separate from a second area (32) as a result of an external force applied to the attachment (34). When the first area (30) is partially separated from the second area (32) due to the separation mechanism (48), the first area (30) can open out from the second area (32) so as to separate from the first layer (14), and together with the attachment (34), the article (10) can be maintained in the disposal state.
