A remote control (200) acts as a mediator between a portable terminal (100) having a reader-writer (104) installed therein and a main body device (300). After having recognized a transponder (204), the reader-writer (104) automatically executes a sequence for reading or writing NFC Data Exchange Format (NDEF) data from inside the transponder (204). On the remote control (200) side, command data from the reader-writer (104) is received by the transponder (204). A control unit (201) transmits the command data to the main body device (300) via wireless communication by a wireless communication unit (205).
