The method involves supplying data of a data source (1) to a splitter (3) that supplies the data to two transmission links (5, 6) i.e. power source lines. The transmitted data is supplied to a combiner (4) over the two transmission links. The data received by the combiner is passed to a data sink (2) according to a given criteria. The data is additionally transmitted to a power source over the transmission links. Transmission of the data between the data source and the data sink is performed under application of a parallel redundancy protocol (PRP).
