PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle speed control unit capable of controlling a vehicle speed of a vehicle, which is traveling, to a speed limit or less without giving awkwardness to a driver even if a vehicle speed sensor has failed.SOLUTION: Included are a block (14) that determines a vehicle speed on the basis of a result of measuring by a vehicle speed measuring device (1), a block (15) that determines a traveling speed of a vehicle on the basis of information sent from a GPS, a block (11) that senses the fact that the vehicle speed measuring device (1) has failed, and a decision block (13) that has a capability to determine the vehicle speed using the block (15), which determines the traveling speed of the vehicle on the basis of the information from the GPS, if the vehicle speed measuring device has failed. |
