PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holding/release mechanism which can hold a connection firmly without use of an explosive device and can release the connection reliably.SOLUTION: A holding/release mechanism comprises a mobile member 42 moving in one direction along a release path 46, urging means 60 of urging the mobile member, a fixed member 44 arranged at a fixed position or urged in the opposite direction by the same urging force as that for the mobile member, a first rotation shaft 50 perpendicular to the release path, an outer link 32 connected to the mobile member and the first rotation shaft, an inner link 34 having the same length as that of the outer link and connected to the fixed member and the first rotation shaft, and a device 62 controlling the rotations of both the links each around their one end 34a and 32a, respectively, when both ends 34a and 34b of the inner link and both ends 32a and 32b of the outer link lie in the same plane. The device keeps both ends of both the links on the same plane non-orthogonal to the release path in holding the connection between the mobile member and the fixed member and rotates both ends of both the links on the same plane orthogonal to the release path in releasing the connection. |
