The present invention relates to a cooling apparatus of a sterling engine and a sterling engine having the same, capable of drastically enhancing durability and output performance of an engine by installing a cooling piston on a displacer shaft or a piston shaft and circulating a refrigerant inside a displacer to prevent overheating of the engine and protect engine parts. The present invention includes: a cooling cylinder fixed to a main body of the sterling engine, having a refrigerant entrance on one side and a refrigerant exit on the other side, and having a refrigerant compression chamber inside; and a cooling piston fixed onto a shaft through which the sterling engine reciprocates and inserted to the cooling cylinder to simultaneously move along with the shaft to apply pressure into the refrigerant compression chamber.
