The present invention relates to a POS system and, specifically, to a POS system using sequential fingerprint input and an operating method thereof which sequentially receive more than two fingerprints when a credit card owner pays by credit card through a POS terminal, and code the recognition result, and transmit the fingerprint information with card information to a payment server, thereby improving payment security. According to the POS system using sequential fingerprint input and an operating method thereof, the POS terminal sequentially receives more than two fingerprints and supplies fingerprint information which is a coded recognition result, card information, and a time stamp to the payment server. The payment server identified the validity of a payment time using the time stamp, and searches information stored in a subscriber database, and distinguishes and compares the fingerprint information, and approves the payment. According to the present invention, a payment can be made by sequentially inputting fingerprints selected from ten fingerprints of a single user or sequentially inputting fingerprints of multiple users, therefore, a payment can be made by a single user or multiple users and the security for payment information is provided. |
