PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment apparatus which can effectively treat water by using plasma, and to provide a water treatment method.SOLUTION: The water treatment apparatus is provided with a channel 1 having an upstream region 7 of a squeezing part, the squeezing part 8 and an open part 11. The water treatment apparatus is also provided with a pair of electrodes 3a and 3b, which are arranged in the open part 11, an electric power source 13 which generates plasma discharge in between the electrodes, and a gas supply part 9 which supplies a foam-like gas 5 to the channel 1. The electrodes 3a and 3b have a mesh shape. When an inner diameter of the channel 1 is defined as D1 and an inner diameter of the squeezing part 8 is defined as D2, D2 is 0.15 times or more and 0.5 times or less of D1. |
