PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radioactive Cs adsorbent capable of rapidly and efficiently removing Cs ions from radioactive Cs contaminated water at a low cost, and to provide a method of manufacturing the adsorbent.SOLUTION: The radioactive Cs adsorbent includes, as an effective component, a complex of a molecule of Prussian blue M(I)Fe(III)[Fe(II)(CN)](M(I) is monovalent cation, x is 0 or 1) and/or its cluster, and a hydroxide Me(II)(OH)(Me(II) is bivalent transition metal) or its partial oxidation. The method of manufacturing the radioactive Cs adsorbent includes: a process of synthesizing a Prussian blue by making, underwater, an iron cyano complex represented by M(I)Fe(II)(CN)and/or M(I)Fe(III)(CN)react with a bivalent and/or tervalent iron salt compound; and a process of making an aqueous solution of the Prussian blue contain a hydroxide Me(II)(OH). |
