860,003. Drilling-machines; milling-machines. BERLINER MASCHINENBAU A.G. June 6, 1957 [July 5, 1956], No. 18090/57. Addition to 767,539. Class 83 (3). A machine as claimed in Claim 1 of the parent Specification comprises a support 38 carrying the spindle-locating stop 11 and capable of being adjustably connected to the tool carriage 1 or the machine bed 3. To set up the machine, the support 38 is clamped to the carriage 1 by an electric device 39, and the zero set of gaugebars 9 is selected. The carriage is then moved to the zero position, the support 38 is clamped to the bed by a second electric device 40, and the device 39 is released to unclamp the carriage from the support 38. The carriage 1 is now adjusted manually according to a desired datum, e.g. a reference-hole in the work. The clamp 39 is again engaged, the clamp 40 is released, and the machine is ready for operation as described in the parent Specification. |
