Provided is a multilayer ceramic electronic component provided with an external electrode which has excellent bonding properties for bonding to an internal electrode and which suppresses precipitation (or ejection) of metal balls. This multilayer ceramic electronic component is provided with a laminate body formed by laminating a ceramic layer and an internal electrode, and with an external electrode which is formed on the outer surface of the laminate body so as to be electrically connected to the internal electrode, wherein the external electrode contains a conductive layer (10) in contact with the internal electrode, and further, the internal electrode contains Ni. The conductive layer (10) contains a thermosetting resin (24) and metal particles (25) containing a Cu3Sn alloy. The weight ratio of Sn to the total amount of Sn and Cu in the metal particles is 36.5-47.8%. The conductive layer (10) is inferred to metallically bond with the internal electrode containing Ni. |
