The method involves applying coating layer (18) on substrate (12), via nozzle of spray head (20). The applied coating layer is dried, and an actual layer thickness of the applied coating layer is measured before drying. A predetermined desired thickness of coating layer is adjusted depending on measured actual layer thickness of applied coating layer, based on geometry opening of the nozzle of spray head. An independent claim is included for a device for wet coating of substrate.
