The arrangement (1) has an ultrasonic transducer (2) and a main chamber (4). The main chamber comprises ultrasonic transducer at one end and an ultrasonic wave reflector (5) at the other end. An auxiliary chamber is communicated with the fluid mixture (3) in thermal contact and is filled with a calibration fluid as a known function of the propagation velocity of an ultrasonic wave (11) in the calibration fluid from the temperature of the calibration fluid.
