摘要 <p>A microcrystal laser (20) assembly including a gain-crystal (40) includes a frame (22) having a high thermal conductivity and which may be made from CuW. The frame has a base (24) with two spaced apart portions (26A,26B) extending from the base. The gain-crystal (40) has a resonator output mirror on one surface (34) thereof. The gain-crystal (40) is supported on the spaced-apart portions (26A,26B) of the frame (22) in the space there between. Another resonator mirror (50) which may be a SESAM for Q-switching is supported in that space, spaced apart from the output mirror, on a pedestal (54) attached to the base of the frame and which may be made from Al. The pedestal and the frame have different CTE. Varying the frame temperature varies the width of the air-gap (45) between the resonator mirrors depending on the CTE difference between the pedestal and the frame.</p>
