The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing cerium oxide recycling the waste of ceria-based abrasive, comprising the steps of: reclaiming recycled ceria-based abrasive from the waste of ceria-based abrasive and conducting oxidation roasting by thermally treating the recycled ceria-based abrasive in an oxidation atmosphere; acquiring the leaching solution of a sulfuric acid by selectively removing sediment after leaching the product of the oxidation roasting with a sulfuric acid; extracting cerium (Ce) after separating the leaching solution of a sulfuric acid into water and oil including cerium (Ce) by adding an organic solvent to the leaching solution of a sulfuric acid; conducting the backward extraction of cerium (Ce) by adding an acid to the oil including cerium (Ce) acquired by the extraction; inputting the cerium solution acquired by the backward extraction into the aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide and acquiring cerium hydroxide; and acquiring cerium oxide (CeO2) by thermally treating the cerium hydroxide. According to the present invention, cerium (Ce) can be reclaimed from the waste of ceria-based abrasive including ceria-based abrasive, frit glass and inorganic coagulants, thereby preventing environmental pollution and saving resources. And high-purity cerium oxide can be acquired by effectively purifying the waste of ceria-based abrasive including foreign materials at a low processing cost and in a short time. |
