<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a feeling of discomfort of the driver of a following vehicle caused by a brake lamp amid congestion and the like.SOLUTION: A switching control device for a vehicular brake lamp 6, the device for use in controlling lighting of the vehicular brake lamp 6, includes: a vehicle speed determination part 11 for determining a vehicle speed of a vehicle itself; a brake determination part 12 for determining an operation state of a brake of the vehicle itself; storage means 2 for storing information; a travel history recording part 13 for causing the storage means 2 to store the number of times in cases where the vehicle speed determination part 11 determines that the vehicle speed is lower than a given value and the brake determination part 12 determines an event of a brake being operated; and a switching control part 14 for controlling the vehicular brake lamp 6 so as to be lit at first illuminance if the brake is operated, and controlling the vehicular brake lamp 6 so as to be lit at second illuminance that is lower than the first illuminance if the brake is operated after the number of times stored in the storage means 2 exceeds a given number of times within a given period of time.</p> |
