PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an image display device by laminating an image display member and a light transmitting cover member arranged on a surface side thereof with a cured resin layer of a photocurable resin composition interposed therebetween, and manufacture the image display device by making a light transmitting cured resin layer between a light-shielding layer and the image display member in a cured state capable of maintaining adhesive strength in a heating environment without using a thermal polymerization process.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of an image display device of the present invention includes the steps of: applying a liquid photocurable resin composition containing no thermal polymerization initiator on the surface of a light transmitting cover member including a light-shielding layer or on the surface of an image display member and then irradiating the surface with UV light to cure the photocurable resin composition in an atmosphere with significantly reduced oxygen concentration to form a light transmitting cured resin layer; and subsequently laminating the image display member and the light transmitting cover member with the light transmitting cured resin layer interposed therebetween.
