A daughter card assembly (104) comprises a daughter card (106) having a leading edge (114) extending along a longitudinal axis (191), and signal contacts (122) disposed along the leading edge. A power module (108) is coupled to the daughter card proximate to the leading edge. The power module includes a module housing (202) having a module cavity (225A) and a cavity opening (226) that provides access to the module cavity. A power contact (124) is disposed within the module cavity and projects through the cavity opening. The power contact (124) is configured to engage a corresponding electrical contact (262) of a receptacle connector during a mating operation such that the power contact (124) is deflected by the electrical contact (262) into the module cavity (225A) as the power contact and the electrical contact engage each other.
