<p>The battery cell (1) has a cell housing (2) which comprises cell terminal (3). The cell terminal is provided with an electrode of the battery cell, and a region of the cell terminal with free end projecting from the cell housing. The region has a lower portion (5) extending from the cell housing, an upper portion (6) extending up to the free end, and an intermediate portion (7) which connects the lower portion with the upper portion. The intermediate portion is designed such that the upper section over the intermediate portion is arranged resiliently resetting at the lower portion.
