An operation method of a system on chip comprises the steps of: determining to switch from a low power core to a high performance core; counting the number of high performance cores in operation among a plurality of high performance cores; determining maximum operating frequencies of the high performance cores based on the counted number; and switching from the low power core to the high performance core based on the determined maximum operating frequencies.
