The present invention relates to a music playback set-top box and an operation method for the same. The music playback set-box plays various sound sources received from a user terminal by utilizing a wire-wireless communications unit in a set-top box without bulk storage, and allows a copyright holder to receive payment based on calculation of royalty according to the played number of the sound source.
