<p>Method for manufacturing flexible steel rings (32), in particular for manufacturing ring sets (31 ) for a drive belt (3) with a number of mutually nested flexible steel rings (32), which method comprises a process step (IX) wherein the rings (32) are heat treated to provide these with a nitrided surface layer. According to the present disclosure, a thickness of these nitrided surface layers of the rings (32) is actively controlled through controlling the duration of the nitriding heat treatment.</p> |
