PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for controlling the output of a stirling engine in which the output of the stirling engine is controlled with good response. SOLUTION: The device 50A for controlling the output of the sterling engine provides communication between a high-temperature cylinder 20A and a low-temperature cylinder 30 of a two-cylinderα-type stirling engine 10A. The device 50A includes: a high-temperature side opening 51aA in the high-temperature cylinder 20A and a low-temperature side opening 51bA in the low-temperature cylinder 30; a passage 51A for distributing a working fluid of the stirling engine 10A; and an open/close valve 52A provided in the passage 51A, and for permitting and prohibiting the distribution of the working fluid, the open/close valve 52A being a rotary-driven open/close valve.
