Class 39(3) [Also in Group XXXVI] A heater wire comprises a pair of spaced metallic conductors 11, 12, separated by multiple layers 14, 15 of synthetic polyamide resin having a negative temperature coefficient of impedance, one layer having substantially constant electrical characteristics over prolonged temperature cycling and another layer having substantially constant electrical characteristics over a wide range of humidity. The conducter 11 may be wound on a core 13 of glass fibres or stranded cellulose acetate and the device may be enclosed in a PVC sheath 16. The conducter 11 may be used for heating blankets and the conducter 12 for control purposes. Specification 696,369 [Group XXXVI] is referred to. |
