METHOD FOR ASSESSING EFFICACY OF PITAVASTATIN IN TREATING ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE WITH ANGINA PECTORIS

A method for assessing the efficacy of Pitavastatin in treating the ischemic heart disease with angina pectoris provides for the comparison of the state of patient prior to and after the treatment. Prior to the treatment with Pitavastatin, 5 mL of the blood is sampled from the ulnar vein of the patient at rest. The viscosity of the blood is measured in rotational viscosimeter at the shearing forces within 0.020-8.8 dyn/cm. The analogous procedures are performed after the treatment with Pitavastatin. If the viscosity at 0.3 dyn/cmdecreases by more than 6.7 % as compared with that prior to the treatment, the hemorheological result and the antianginal effect are considered as the positive ones.
