PURPOSE: A rotary compressor is provided to reduce an axial direction size of a cylinder, a connection pipe, and a suction pipe, thereby preventing a pressure loss caused by a decrease of a flow path area. CONSTITUTION: A rotary compressor comprises a compressing device(3). The compressing dive is driven with an electric motor through a crank shaft in the inside of a closed vessel. The compressing device has a cylindrical inner space and comprises a cylinder and a connecting pipe(61) in the inner space. A suction port suctioning low pressured fluid of a cooling cycle is bored in a diameter direction in the cylinder. The connecting pipe connects the suction port and a suction pipe outside of the closed vessel. Cross-section shapes of the suction port, the connecting pipe, and the suction pipe are non-circular shapes. |
