<p>The present invention is to display a specific color region such as skin color without disharmony between devices having mutually different color gamut. An image processing apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a signal input unit for converting an input signal to first image data of a linearized first color gamut; a color gamut conversion unit for converting the first image data to second image data for displaying a second color gamut which is narrower than the first color gamut; a blend coefficient setting unit for setting a first blend coefficient when a color and chroma obtainable from the input signal is in a range of a first color region, which is equivalent to a skin color, setting a second blend coefficient, in which a synthesizing ratio of the second image data is lower than the first blend coefficient, when the input signal is in a range of a second region, and setting a blend coefficient according to color and chroma between the first and the second blend coefficients when the input signal is in a color region range between the first and second color regions; and a color synthesizing unit for synthesizing the first image data and the second image data according to the blend coefficient.</p> |
