<p>A home appliance system according to an embodiment of the present invention includes at least one lighting device, an operation detecting unit detecting that operation of a washing machine is stopped after the washing machine starts operating, and a control unit, connected to the lighting device, determining on/off state of the lighting device and generating an lighting control command to control the lighting device. If the operation of the washing machine is stopped for a first time duration after the control unit receives the detected result from the operation detecting unit, the control unit generates a lighting control command to control a lighting device in an on state among the lighting devices. A method of controlling the home appliance system according to an embodiment of the present invention includes steps of (a) detecting that operation of a washing machine is stopped after the washing machine starts operating, (b) detecting a lighting device positioned within a given distance from the washing machine, (c) determining whether the operation stop duration of the washing machine exceeds the first time duration, and, if the operation stop duration of the washing machine exceeds the first time duration, controlling a lighting device in an on state among the detected lighting devices with at least one of a flickering operating mode, a color conversion operating mode, and a brightness conversion operating mode.</p> |
