782,866. Impulse transmitters. DEMEULENAERE, M. A., and DEMEULENAERE, R. June 27, 1955 [June 25, 1954], No. 18476/55. Class 40 (4). Trains of impulses representing a predetermined multi-digit number are transmitted by a normal telephone dial-type impulse transmitter 12, which is driven by an arm 16 under the control of a device 10, following the depression of a selected key 20. The key 20 returns to its original position step-by-step along an escapement, resting at each step against a different disc 55. At each step an electric motor 47 rotates the discs 55 through a differential gear 65 until a projection on the depressed key 20 enters a notch on the adjacent disc 55. The differential gear 65 then drives the arm 16 and hence the dial 12 so that the angle of rotation of the dial 12 and the angle through which the discs 55 have turned add up to a complete revolution. The discs 55, which are frictionally held on their driving shafts 53, are set to the required positions by depressing the relevant key 20 and dialling the wanted number on a dial 21, which may also be used for normal manual dialling. |
