Class 7(2) A device for directing air to a carburetter comprises a casing having an upper chamber, two air intakes one at each end of the chamber and a horn depending centrally from the chamber, one wall of the horn having an opening through which air from the two intakes may pass to the carburetter and solid baffle means transverse to the general direction of air flow from the intakes and adapted to maintain the air stream coming from one intake separate from the air stream coming from the other intake and to direct both streams into the horn, muffle means being provided between the baffle means and each of the intakes. As shown, the air intake silencer comprises intakes 17, 18 leading to a chamber 10. The chamber is divided into two by a partition 34. The air passes through the chamber and down into a central horn 14 and from the horn it passes through the opening 36 to the carburetter of an outboard motor. Muffle baffles 27 to 32 are located in the chamber. Fig. 5 shows one form of muffle baffle. The two sections of the casing may be permanently secured
