The present invention relates to an apparatus for preventing the double discharge of a quenching car and a controlling method thereof. When a quenching car for moving and discharging cokes into a wharf is operated, cokes are prevented from being discharged into the same wharf twice in succession by storing and comparing discharging time and a wharf number with the previous discharge information after the cokes are discharged, thereby preventing a wharf from exceeding even if a communication error or a schedule error occurs. Schedules can be effectively adjusted by enabling a user to immediately recognize abnormality and take action.
