<p>In a method for the treatment of items, in particular vehicle bodies, an item (12) is conveyed on a supporting structure (24) through a treatment chamber (36), in which an operating atmosphere that has a higher temperature than the atmosphere outside the treatment chamber (36) is produced, and so both the item (12) and the supporting structure (24) heat up. After passing through the treatment chamber (36), the item (12) is conveyed on the supporting structure (24) through a cooling zone (38), in which the item (12) and the supporting structure (24) cool down. At least the supporting structure (24) is cooled down in the cooling zone (38) by the supporting structure (24) being subjected to a liquid or solid cooling medium (54). Also provided is an installation for the treatment of items, in particular vehicle bodies, in which a cooling device (46) comprises means (56) by means of which at least one supporting structure (24) can be subjected to a liquid or solid cooling medium (54).</p> |
