A gate-in-panel (GIP) type liquid crystal display device of the present invention includes first and second substrates facing each other to be spaced apart from each other and defined by a display region and a non-display region surrounding the display region; a gate wire and a data wire formed on the display region of the first substrate and crossing each other to define a pixel region; a thin film transistor connected to the gate wire and the data wire; a pixel electrode connected to the thin film transistor; a switch element formed on the non-display region of the first substrate and connected to the gate wire; a signal wire formed on the non-display region of the first substrate and connected to the switch element; a first dummy column spacer formed on the non-display region of the second substrate and corresponding to the signal wire; and a second dummy column spacer formed on the non-display region of the second substrate close to the display region, and having an area greater than an area of the first dummy column spacer.
