The invention relates to a profiled strip, in particular an edge strip for the furniture industry. Such profiled strips are used to decorate items such as boards or components for building furniture or the like. The profiled strip has a base layer and a functional layer arranged thereon, wherein the base layer and/or the functional layer at least partially comprise(s) a polymeric material, with the functional layer comprising approximately 2 to 80% by weight, preferably 5 to 25% by weight, of constituent parts. The constituent parts are produced from a polymeric material with an average molecular weight Mw of at least 800 kg/mol, wherein the ratio of the melt flow index MFI in accordance with ASTM D-1238 of the polymeric material of the functional layer to that of the base layer is greater than two, wherein the constituent parts are covered at least partially by the polymeric material of the functional layer and wherein the light transmission in accordance with ASTM D-1003 of the polymeric material of the functional layer and/or of the base layer is at least 80%. |
