PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate authentication for a WEB server that requires authentication. SOLUTION: The authentication system is provided with: at least one terminal to be used by at least one user; at least one WEB server that requires authentication for access; and a relay server for relaying each terminal and each WEB server. The relay server records authentication information transmitted from the terminal to the WEB server in response to an authentication request transmitted from the WEB server to the terminal in a database when an access request is made from the terminal to the WEB server, and generates the authentication information from the database and transmits the authentication information to the WEB server instead of the terminal when the access request is made from the terminal to the WEB server.
