<p>The present invention relates to a bridge leg (12) switching a DC voltage at its respective input terminal (30, 31) to produce an AC voltage at its output terminal (2) for supply to an inductive load. The bridge leg comprises a first switch assembly (22), a second switch assembly (21), a third switch assembly (24), a fourth switch assembly (23) and at least a first inductive element (51). The first switch assembly (22) and the second switch assembly (21) are serially connected between the bridge leg input terminals (30, 31), the bridge leg output (2) being formed at a point of interconnection of the first switch assembly (22) and the second switch assembly (21). The third switch assembly (24) and the fourth switch assembly (23) are serially connected between the bridge leg input terminals (30, 31), the inductive element (51) being connected between a point of interconnection of the third switch assembly (24) and the fourth switch assembly (23) and the bridge leg output (2). The third switch assembly (24) and the fourth switch assembly (23) are controlled such that reverse current through either of the first switch assembly (22) or the second switch assembly (21) is reduced compared to bridge leg output current prior to the moment of switching of the bridge leg output (2).</p> |
