The invention relates to the field of electrical industry in particular to a method for producing lead alloy for manufacturing current collectors of lead-acid batteries and may be used in the manufacturing of lead-acid cells and batteries, including VRLA-batteries. A method includes introduction to the molten lead of: calcium 0.04-0.3 wt. %, tin 0.2-2.5 wt. % and bismuth 0.002-0.050 wt. %, and additionally aluminum 0.005-0.030 wt. %. The resulting melt is crystallized in the form of strips which are rolled into a strap with a degree of deformation of 85-95 %, then the artificial aging of this strap is carried out at a temperature of 40-60 C°, at that the castings of the received alloy into the strap are produced in the range of the cooling rate in the mold υ= (0,015÷0,055)(T-800×Ca%), where T– is the initial melt temperature, °C, Ca % - is calcium content in the alloy wt. %. The invention provides a reduction in the percentage of breakage of fibers of lattice strap in the production of current leads and improving the quality of current leads and batteries during their use. |
