Class 17(2) A foot support comprises stiff members 1, 2, engageable respectively by the sole and heel of the foot, inter-connected by resilient means, e.g. wire springs 3 which exert a torsional force between members 1,2, about the longitudinal axis of the foot, and attached e.g. riveted to the underside of a flexible sheet element 4, of leather or like material, contoured to fit the underside of the foot. The support may be removably inserted, or permanently built in the shoe. Members 1, 2, may be omitted, the torsion element being anchored between layers of leather, reinforced where necessary with fibre glass. |
