The display apparatus includes a display; a communicator configured to communicate with at least one home appliance; a storage configured to store a user setting message; and a controller configured to control the communicator to communicate with a home appliance selected by a user, and to display the user setting message on the display according to a preset condition satisfaction signal in response to the preset condition satisfaction signal being received from the home appliance.
