The device (1) has a housing (2) insertable into an opening of a cistern lid. A push button (5) is mounted in the housing to be movable along a central axis (M) in relation to the housing. A pusher element (6) is movable toward a drain fitting to trigger flushing by actuating the push button. The housing comprises an assembly housing unit (7) with which the device is mounted in the cistern lid and a push-button housing unit (8) that is adjustably mounted in the assembly housing unit in relation to the assembly housing unit, where the push button is mounted on the push-button housing unit.
