摘要 The present invention relates to a reciprocatable double-acting pressure booster capable of reciprocating a piston while inflow and outflow of a pressure fluid are continuously repeated in a cycle and an operation method thereof. According to the present invention, the reciprocatable double-acting pressure booster includes: a cylinder which includes a first cylinder room at one side and a second cylinder room at the other side; a first piston which operates in the first cylinder room; a second piston which operates in the second cylinder room; and a piston rod which connects the first and the second piston. The reciprocatable double-acting pressure booster is operated either by connecting a fluid pressure source to one side (first-piston side) of the first cylinder room and connecting one side (second-piston side) and the other side (piston-rod side) of the second cylinder room to supply a fluid to a driving device or by connecting a fluid pressure source to one side (second-piston side) of the second cylinder room and connecting one side (first-piston side) and the other side (piston-rod side) of the first cylinder room to supply the fluid to the driving device. According to the reciprocatable double-acting pressure booster and the operation method thereof, it is possible to reduce the weight of a moving body and the boosting rate by reducing the size ratio (radius ratio or area ratio) of the piston rod to the piston, while reducing consumption of inertial energy in operating the booster. It is also possible to raise the level of output by increasing the amount of outflow, improve degree of freedom in design thanks to the large design radius ratio and area ratio of the piston rod to the piston, and enhance design sensitivity as the range of the boosting rate in the available size ratio range and variation of the boosting rate according to the change of the size ratio are large.
