PURPOSE: An absorbent and an absorbent product containing the same are provided to protect the absorbent from external shock by packaging the absorbent with an air-permeable film and a non-woven thin film. CONSTITUTION: An absorbent contains 10-30wt% of condensed matter containing gums, and 70-90wt% of water absorbing material containing calcium chloride. The condensed matter contains 70-90wt% of gums, and 10-30wt% of sugar. The gums include guar gum and xanthan gum, and a ratio of the guar gum, xanthan gum, and sugar is 5:3:2.
