Disclosed is a torque converter for vehicles capable of expanding the operation area of a lock-up clutch to the whole RPM area of an engine by increasing a torsion angle of a torsional damper when the lock-up clutch is in operation. The torque converter for the vehicles comprises the lock-up clutch and the torsional damper. The torsional damper includes a drive plate delivered with a driving force from the lock-up clutch; multiple power transmission members having first hinge connecting units, in which one end is hinged to the drive plate; a cover plate having a second hinge connecting unit hinged to the middle portion of the power transmission member; a spring support unit having a third hinge connecting unit hinged to the other end of the power transmission member and placed at the cover plate; multiple springs, in which one end is elastically supported to the spring support member and installed in the circumferential direction of the cover plate; and a driven plate elastically supporting the other end of the spring and delivered with the driving force.
