The present invention discloses an organic light emitting display device. More particularly, the present invention relates to the organic light emitting display device with reduced power consumption by varying the driving frequency in accordance with a video, and a method of driving the same. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the organic light emitting display device includes a driving frequency setting circuit to set a driving frequency according to a determination result by controlling a gate and a data driver by a timing signal inputted from a display panel, the gate, the data driver, and an external system, by calculating an average picture level (APL) of a frame unit with respect to an image signal input by the external system, and by determining the type of images based on the information about the amount of change in the APL during a reference frame period. |
