The present invention relates to large onion pills with minimized peculiar tastes and offensive smells and an improved functionality by using onion as a main ingredient, and a manufacturing method thereof and, more specifically, to large onion pills with minimized peculiar tastes and offensive smells and an improved functionality by using onion as a main ingredient and a manufacturing method thereof, which comprises a step of manufacturing powder by treating onions with hot-water by immersing the onions in a fixed amount of hot water before cutting, performing low-temperature drying at a predetermined temperature after cutting, and pulverizing after drying; a highly concentrated onion concentrate manufacturing step of washing onions separately from the powder manufacturing step, steaming in a high pressure pot, pressing to extract onion juice and evaporating the moisture with a reduced pressure concentration apparatus to concentrate the onion juice; a selection step of selecting an adhesive for manufacturing large onion pills; a selection step of selecting sub-ingredients for minimizing peculiar tastes and offensive smells; a selection step of selecting sub-ingredients for improving functionality; a step of kneading a mixture of the onion powder, the highly concentrated onion concentrate, the adhesive and the sub-ingredients; and a step of manufacturing large onion pills, coating the surface of the large onion pills with a mixture of a red ginseng concentrate, fructooligosaccharide and diluted ethanol at a predetermined amount, drying and coating the surface of the large onion pill with pullulan. |
