A harvesting attachment for a harvesting machine comprising an L-shaped frame, the frame including an outer wall, the outer wall including a front wall, a rear wall, and two side walls, the frame including a holding fixture characterized by an opening in the L-shaped frame, the holding fixture mounting the rear wall to the harvesting machine, wherein a cavity is defined by the outer wall, wherein at least one strut is arranged in the cavity including at least one cross strut connecting the front and rear walls and extending substantially horizontal, and wherein the frame is mounted to a front side of the harvesting machine.
